Hey guys, I saw that RightStuf has volumes 2, 5, 7, and 8 for sale. Volumes 2, ,5, and 7 are going for $3.99 each while volume 8 is $4.99. You can see it here. Just wanted to let those who wanted to buy the books know that they can still buy them somewhere. As a person who has bought from RightStuf, they are reliable with quick shipping. ;D

Don't miss out on getting your copy of Tactics, even if the English version stops at volume 8....

I'm in the process of scanning vol 14, but while I was skimming through it I came across a page that I thought illustrated the kind of person Kantarou is and the kind of relationship he has with his mom pretty well, and it was easy for me to read so I translated it.

Right before this page she takes a feather he found in the forest away from him, attaches it to a shikigami and sends it far away. Kantarou is under the impression this feather belongs to Onikui (it doesn't.) however his mother seems to recognize it and makes a rather concerned and frightened face when she sees it. She however doesn't explain this to Kantarou and never corrects him on what it really is. Instead while he's whining about the feather that must be from Onikui being taken away she asks him the question at the beginning of the page.

translating chapter 9.2, in case anyone with better skills would like to help.

Also, if anyone else is thinking about translating a chapter on their own, then I guess your starting point would be 9.3.

I have volumes 7-12 of Tactics in Japanese.

Which ones have not yet been made available by someone in English?

Also are there any side stories in the early volumes that are not available in English?

My roommate and I are looking for volumes 3, 4, 7 and 8 of the Tokyopop mangas. We're having trouble finding them. Do any of you know where to find digital copies to download or something similar?
Preferably not Mangafox D:
Any help would be SUPER helpful! Thanks ahead of time

A while back we were discussing actor choices if we were going to do a live action movie of Tactics. I came across this pic & had to do a double-take- looks like Haruka with something shiny!

According toTp reps they plan to start publishing manga for the USA again (no word on titles). S far most of the reaction I've seen was negative- no one trusts the wack-job not to jerk buyers around again. Thoughts? Anyone got more info (particularly titles?)

The dvd set I have was given to me, not sure where it's from, but it's 3 discs with only Chinese and English subs (with some errors), Japanese text on the back, and no extras. I don't mind it not having dubs, since I'd rather watch it subtitled anyway, but I was still thinking about purchasing the normal/official 5-disc box set.

Is it worth buying only for the extras? One of the Amazon reviews says it has music videos for a couple songs, another review just says songs but doesn't mention videos. Are they actually music videos? I've watched the fansubbed version also, and probably trust it more than my dvds where they disagree on meaning. Is the official translation pretty good? Despite the weirdness at times, one thing I do like about mine is that it left things like "youkai" and "onikui tengu" as is instead of using demon/goblin/whatever.

Just curious for input before I invest in another copy. :-) I looked through some of the tags, but only found a little bit about the extras on the first disc when it was released, not the set.

Edit: Doubt anyone cares, but I did end up buying the box set when it was on sale for less than $25 - so a pretty good deal. I thought the interviews were kind of amusing. And the "music videos", although incomplete, at least included subtitles, so that was nice. And if nothing else, it gave me an excuse to watch the series again.

"After seven years, Sakura Kinoshita will resume her Mythical Detective Loki manga in a new series that launches in Mag Garden’s online manga magazine Beat’s on August 25. The new manga series is tentatively titled Matantei Loki Ragnarok ~Shin Sekai no Kamigami~ (Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: The Gods of the New World)."
Do you think it will affect Tactics?
